BOOMBOX is back [SAT.6/7] with a heavy triple-header featuring KCRW legend JEREMY SOLE + certified beat monster 14KT + next-gen killer OJE.!!

There are very few things Chicago born JEREMY SOLE can’t do. A master of countless musical genres, his DJ sets are truly the stuff of legend. Moving to Los Angeles in 2001, he blessed the westside with his broad musical pallet and seamless blends at the immensely influential Afro Funké for the better part of 20 years. His newest venture, Le Frique Sonique, finds him in DTLA monthly delving deep into his bag of uptempo heat from across the globe. Oh, and he just celebrated the 18th anniversary of his weekly show on the iconic KCRW. We’re honored to have the legend back on our turntables!

Long story short, 14KT is one of our favorite producers on the planet. His vast range and wild musicality combined with a signature knock that snaps necks and vibrates chakras is truly one of one. He’s released multiple projects as a member of legendary Athletic Mic League and produced double-digit solo and collab albums ranging from instrumental hip hop to experimental r&b to straight up jazz. He was even crowned the Red Bull Big Tune National Champion back in 2010. We couldn’t be more hyped to have him back on our decks for a special DJ set!

Our brother OJE. may come from distinguished lineage, but the sound he’s created for himself is truly all his own. From his early releases on Soulection, that got burn with DJs around the world, it’s been clear that his penchant for breathing new life into classic joints is incredibly unique. Those chops got him invited to Jazzy Jeff’s Playlist Retreat and currently have him working at Dr. Dre’s Aftermath studio. And if you witnessed his set at our #DoinIt4Dilla event last year, you know you’re in for a treat!

Since September 2nd, 2006, Boombox has provided a home for Los Angeles hip hop lovers to gather every first Saturday of the month and celebrate the genre’s most respected DJs and producers.
