Marshall Mathers Foundation Benefit Auction Preview

On August 12, 2026, LA Hip Hop Events had the honor of attending the exclusive media preview of the Marshall Mathers Foundation Benefit Auction hosted by Julien’s Auctions at Interscope Records in Los Angeles. This private event offered media representatives a glimpse into Eminem’s extraordinary single-owner collection of rare, hand-signed sneakers. It occurred just days before the historic auction set for August 25, 2026.

With over 100 pairs from Eminem’s personal collection up for auction, the preview showcased hip-hop history. It blended sneaker culture and philanthropy. Eminem has collaborated with renowned brands like Nike, Jordan Brand, Carhartt, PUMA, and Adidas for more than two decades. This collaboration makes the collection one of the rarest in sneaker history. Each pair is signed by Eminem, with many accompanied by their original boxes, enhancing their authenticity and collector value.

Among the standout pieces on display were the Eminem x Nike Air Jordan 3 “Slim Shady” Player Exclusive sneakers. Nike created them for Eminem’s appearance at the Super Bowl LVI halftime show with Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg. The producers created 25 pairs and did not release them publicly. They added a Slim Shady heel tag, reverse E branding, Shady Records graphics, and tongue embroidery. Only 25 production pairs exist. They were never intended for public release. Other highlights included the rare Eminem x Carhartt x Nike Air Jordan 4 collaboration. The 2017 Eminem x Nike Air Jordan 4 ‘Encore’ followed. Eminem wore and signed the stage-worn Nike Air Max 90 ‘Soundstorm’ sneakers during his MDLBEAST performance in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

At the preview, I had the opportunity to meet Rick Williams, a Detroit-based designer, entrepreneur, and the owner of Burn Rubber Sneaker Boutique. With over 15 years of experience in sneaker culture and collaborations with brands like New Balance, Reebok, PUMA, Saucony, Converse, Fila, Diadora, and Adidas, Williams is a prominent figure in the industry.

He expressed particular admiration for the Eminem x Carhartt x Nike Air Jordan 4s, noting the extraordinary rarity and history surrounding the collaboration. The sneakers remain among the most sought-after Eminem-related releases and represent the unique relationship between hip-hop, Detroit culture, streetwear, and sneaker collecting.

When asked about the significance of the auction, Williams highlighted Eminem and Paul Rosenberg’s commitment to giving back to the community. Instead of allowing these historic items to languish in storage, the auction provides fans and collectors a chance to engage with the collection while raising funds for the Marshall Mathers Foundation.

The preview also featured prominent figures from hip-hop culture, including DJ Whoo Kid, who honored Eminem by wearing a Slim Shady chain and emphasized the importance of the collection. His presence underscored the enduring influence of hip-hop and sneaker culture, as well as the relationships that have flourished throughout music history.

The Marshall Mathers Foundation Auction – August 25, 2026

Presented by Julien’s Auctions, the Marshall Mathers Foundation Auction will take place on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. PDT. The sale represents the largest single-sale collection of Eminem material offered at public auction. It features more than 100 lots of signed sneakers. These items were collected across more than two decades.

Bidding is currently open through Julien’s Auctions.

Among the auction’s most notable offerings are two pairs of the Air Jordan 3 “Slim Shady” Player Exclusive, each estimated at $25,000-$35,0000 Signed Eminem x Carhartt x Nike Air Jordan 4 sneakers carry estimates of $15,000-$25,000 per pair, while the rare 2017 Air Jordan 4 “Encore” is also estimated at $15,000-$25,000.

The stage-worn and signed Riyadh ‘Soundstorm’ Nike Air Max 90s are estimated at $8,000 to $12,000. Other signed Nike, PUMA, and Adidas sneakers throughout the collection offer collectors opportunities across a wide price range.

Most importantly, all proceeds from the auction will benefit the Marshall Mathers Foundation. The foundation supports disadvantaged and at-risk youth in Detroit and surrounding communities.
