When we started back in 2006 we just wanted to throw a party WE would want to go to. where we could play OUR music, OUR way, for OUR friends and family, with some of OUR favorite guest DJs, artists, & producers. The fact that we’re still here in 2023 shows that it’s way bigger than us. YOU continue to show up every month, YOU love this music just as much as we do, and it’s YOUR love and energy that have created the party and vibe we were searching for all those years ago. So thank YOU, Los Angeles!
It is in that spirit that we welcome back hip hop legend, super-producer, and rapper extraordinaire LARGE PROFESSOR for an exclusive DJ set all the way from NYC! His production prowess has been instrumental in crafting the sonic palette of hip hop having created iconic tracks for the likes of Nas, Eric B. & Rakim, Kool G Rap, A Tribe Called Quest, Busta Rhymes, & countless others…let alone his Main Source work + solo material! He is one of one and we couldn’t be more hyped to have him back on our decks for a rare west coast appearance.
We’re also joined by a Los Angeles DJ legend and frequent Boombox assassin, the Beat Junkies‘ own RHETTMATIC!! One of the dons we always looked up to as we were coming up, he was also one of the first to show us love and support the party. We love him for that and always will. That said, he also happens to absolutely destroy the place every single time he rocks! We are honored to have him back on the set for this special occasion.

Since September 2, 2006, Boombox has provided a home for Los Angeles hip hop lovers to gather every first Saturday of the month and celebrate the genre’s most respected DJs and producers.
