One of our favorites, Uncle Shoes has been an acclaimed DJ and producer for the better part of 30 years. As one of the ambassadors of Detroit hip hop, he’s produced for the likes of J Dilla/Jay Dee, Proof, Phat Kat, Elzhi, Danny Brown, & countless others. Upon moving to Los Angeles he founded the now legendary Street Corner Music, which has released more quality instrumental hip hop projects than almost any other label over the past 11+ years!

Since September 2, 2006, Boombox has provided a home for Los Angeles hip hop lovers to gather every first Saturday of the month and celebrate the genre’s most respected DJs and producers.
