His rare combination of technical mastery\, immensely deep crates\, and overall funky/musical approach to both his live sets and production truly vault him “one of one” status. While his multiple full-length LPs\, 2007’s “The Day Before” and 2013’s “Land Of 1000 Chances“\, fully showcase his unique brand of “wistful yet funky” desert production vibes…his live sets\, especially the ones he’s dropped on us at Boombox\, crank the energy up to 11 and put his thunderous party-rocking sensibilities on full display. When he’s not rocking stages across the globe\, you can likely catch him at DJ Jazzy Jeff’s “Playlist Retreat“\, where he’s a multi-time participant. He’s legitimately one of our favorite DJs on planet earth and he’ll forever have a place in our hearts as he was one of the guests at the very first Boombox on September 2nd\, 2006. We couldn’t be more hyped to welcome the legend back to our decks for another musical journey! \n  \nOur Bay Area brother CUTSO is another legend who falls into the rarified “can do it all” category. A 30 year veteran of the DJ/producer game\, he’s won DMC + ITF battles with his crew The Bangerz\, he’s produced everything from the soundtrack to The Jabbawockeez Las Vegas show to a full EP with Lyrics Born (with whom he also tours)\, all while holding down countless residencies across the Bay Area AND crafting incredibly creative edits/remixes that consistently get dropped by legends across the globe. His 2 most recent endeavors are his own elite DJ/production education program entitled the “First WAV Preservation Society“\, and his incredible new weekly “Culture Shock” mixshow on LL Cool J’s “Rock The Bells Radio” on SiriusXM. Oh\, and he’s ALSO an alum of Jazzy Jeff’s infamous “Playlist Retreat“. Fueled by a summer of buckets of beers & questionable BBQ\, a simple idea came to life – let’s create a place where music breaks all barriers & brings together all walks of life. A space where house & hip-hop\, funk & salsa\, reggae & classics could all coexist. Where you would come for the music (vs the name of a DJ)\, stay for the connections & leave with the memories (albeit a bit fuzzy thanks to a carafe of sangria)… a place to do your weekend all-over! \n  \nTwo decades later\, The Do-Over has taken its fun-loving\, funky spirit around the Globe\, sparked lifelong friendships\, marriages (and maybe a divorce or two)\, inspired musical collaborations\, and even helped bring a few babies into the world—sometimes intentionally! We would also like to honor & remember those who are no longer with us but whose energy & love helped shape The Do-Over. \n  \nWhat started as a feeling has become a timeless story — a celebration of community\, culture\, and connection so it only makes sense — we’re celebrating the city that raised us and giving back to the community that keeps it moving.
