BOOMBOX humbly celebrates our 18-YEAR ANNIVERSARY on [SAT.12/7] with a rare Los Angeles appearance from none other than Canada’s finest, the legend SKRATCH BASTID!!

Since September 2nd, 2006 we have cordially invited the greater Los Angeles area to join us every first Saturday of the month for evenings of hip hop, breaks, beats, & beyond. We’ve been lucky and honored to host not only many of our heroes, but also so many up and coming killers who have gone on to do amazing things. Some of the greatest DJs to ever touch the turntables, master beatsmiths who’ve crafted the soundtrack to our lives, not to mention some of our favorite MCs and instrumentalists. While that is all well and good, NONE of it happens without the support of our loyal fam who show up every month to experience it with us. So THANK YOU, Los Angeles…for 18 years of love, community, and music!

Keeping with that tradition, we are incredibly hyped to welcome the funky Canuck himself, SKRATCH BASTID to our stage for the very first time! A certified turntable legend at this point, he’s one of the few DJs from our generation to posses the rare combination of skills, taste, perseverance, and genuine positive energy to earn himself a worldwide following DJing the way we were taught. Surgical cuts, intricate blends, funky juggles, crates for days, and an innate party-rocking backbone…he can legitimately do it all! It’s no wonder he’s routinely trotting the globe throwing his immensely successful Bastid’s BBQ events with some of the biggest names in the game. We are more than honored to host his first Los Angeles appearance in over 5 years!

Since September 2nd, 2006, Boombox has provided a home for Los Angeles hip hop lovers to gather every first Saturday of the month and celebrate the genre’s most respected DJs and producers. Celebrating their 15-year anniversary in 2021, they’ve gained a faithful following of music aficionados who all share one common trait: the love of hip hop culture.

Residents Inka One, Ben Diggin, Analog, and Mantron have created a signature sound and energy that is authentic, inclusive, and fiercely committed to promoting the culture and artistry that hip hop has blessed us with. For the past 18 years, Boombox has given Los Angeles a home for hip hop connoisseurs who understand the importance of the DJ.
