[SAT.7/29] BOOMBOX & Levitt Los Angeles are hyped to officially announce the return of “Boombox In The Park“!! That’s right, we’re bringing our sound back to the iconic Levitt Pavilion Los Angeles at MacArthur Park for another FREE, ALL AGES get-down!

This year we are joined by certified legends J.ROCC [Beat Junkies/Stones Throw] + THE GASLAMP KILLER [Airplane Mode] + MONALISA [Umoja Hi-Fi/MOM LA]!! 3 of our favorite superstars + the full Boombox Soundsystem = another one for the books!

J.ROCC:

Praised as one of the best DJs in the world, J.Rocc began his DJ journey at a very young age. His love for music led him to create a crew of the finest DJs and turntablists. In 1992 he founded the World Famous Beat Junkies and the rest is DJ history. Now he routinely brings his talents to clubs and festivals worldwide, artfully weaving genres together like only he can. Nicknamed “The Funky President,” his legendary sets consistently demonstrate why he’s one most respected DJs on earth.

J.Rocc is signed to the independent record label, Stones Throw Records. He has released 4 full-length projects, Cold Rock Stuf, Beats on Tap(e), Beatitudes, and A Wonderful Letter, plus countless DJ edits, and several projects on the Japan label, Ultra-Vybe.

His turntable skills have been used for “Dr. Dre’s The Pharmacy” radio show on Apple Music/Beats 1, on tour with Black Star (Yasiin Bey & Talib Kweli) and Jaylib (Madlib & the late, great J Dilla), and his work can be heard on tracks from artists such as Pete Rock, Common, and The Alchemist.

Known for incorporating a range of genres of music from hip-hop, house, funk, disco, to Brazilian samba, with his signature style on the decks, the name J.Rocc rings out across the globe as one of the DJ world’s true masters.

THE GASLAMP KILLER:

The Gaslamp Killer (William Bensussen), Los Angeles based DJ/Producer, Low End Theorist, and Airplane Mode resident, is not your conventional artist. What separates him from the rest of the herd is his extensive knowledge in library music, psychedelic rock, bass-heavy Instrumental Hip-Hop, Middle-Eastern/Indian rare grooves, Cumbia, and the dirtiest breakbeats on earth.

MONALISA:

Monalisa Murray has been associated with quality music and events in Los Angeles and across the country for over two decades and has been an active DJ for 17+ years. Her music format is described as “anything with a groove” and ranges from soul, funk, & hip hop, to rock, pop, jazz, & world music, but also includes less familiar and undiscovered gems & jams of all genres. She is associated with the KPL All-Stars, Umoja Hi-Fi Soundsystem, Dublab, Motown On Mondays LA, Ladies Of Sound, & Prism DJs.

INKA ONE:

An avid disc-jockey, vinyl collector, party promoter, and headband advocate, Los Angeles native Inka One doesn’t care what trend the masses are flocking to this week. A 20+ year DJ veteran, his signature blend of proper hip hop, future beats, & dusty breaks, has brought him from mid-city dive bars to festival stages in France to the Walt Disney Concert Hall. His monthly party, Boombox, has been bringing the real to DTLA’s Chinatown district since 2006. Whether on the dancefloor or through your headphones, when Inka’s on the set…you know it’s time to get down.

BEN DIGGIN:

Based in Southern California, Ben Diggin is a co-founder/resident DJ of Boombox. His style is influenced by all the great DJs/Musicians to come out of the West Coast. A collector of vinyl for over 24 years, Ben is a brand ambassador/collaborator with Damir Brand which specializes in crafting unique 45 adapters. Currently you can catch him spinning every Friday night at Porch & Swing in OC and every 1st Saturday at Boombox in Chinatown, Los Angeles.

DJ ANALOG:

With over 20 years of experience, Deejay Analog is a veteran DJ whose skills have earned him the respect of turntablist legends. Known for both his deep music selections and intricate cuts, Analog has evolved from being a student of DJ culture into one of the scene’s brightest innovators, and has recently become an official staff member at Los Angeles’ premiere DJ school: the Beat Junkie Institute of Sound. Known for his meticulous scratching and seamless juggling, Analog infuses his artistry as a turntablist into setlists that create an unforgettable musical experience that keeps audiences connected and moving.

MANTRON:

Originally hailing from Durham, North Carolina, Mantron has made his mark on the Los Angeles music scene for the past 15 years. Renowned for his music exploration, he regularly delivers sets with the finest edits, remixes, and b-sides, at events throughout Southern California. With notable slots opening for the likes of Anderson .Paak, Teedra Moses, & SiR, as well as appearances on Soundwaves Radio on KPFK 90.7fm, not to mention serving as a resident at revered events Boombox & Soul Source, Mantron invites us to lean into the transformative power of music, let go, and dance. His sets bridge communities, foster connections, and create spaces where eclectic soul vibes bring joy and build unity.
