One of the true GOATs of hip hop production, Easy Mo Bee was instrumental in creating a sound and a blueprint for hip hop in the early 90s. His foundational work with the likes of The Notorious B.I.G., 2Pac, Busta Rhymes, Craig Mack, Big Daddy Kane, GZA, Public Enemy, Slick Rick, Mos Def, Tha Alkaholiks, Kurupt, LL Cool J, Das EFX, and even Miles F-ING Davis, has solidified him as one of the most important producers in hip hop history. While he may be the West Coast A&R for Serato, Mr. Sonny James‘ vinyl history runs deep. Coming up in Philadelphia in the early 90s, his razor-sharp skills and extensive crates are revered the world over. His most recent venture, Analog Archive, aims to highlight forgotten vinyl gems and showcase them, and the DJs who play them, for the world to experience.

Our brother DJ Abel has been known in and around the Los Angeles DJ, breaking, & digging scenes for decades. His wildly deep crates and turntable mastery are truly second to none. More recently he’s also carved out a niche as a top-tier remixer, releasing multiple 45s on the Milk Crate Mondays label. He’s also a resident at the stellar party of the same name that has been rocking weekly vinyl-only events just up the street in Chinatown for 7+ years.

Since September 2nd, 2006, Boombox has provided a home for Los Angeles hip hop lovers to gather every first Saturday of the month and celebrate the genre’s most respected DJs and producers.
