West Coast Summer Fest presented by The Wire Entertainment June 2, 2018 was a party like no other. From Snoop Dogg to Too Short, the biggest Hip Hop and official B-Real of Cypress Hill birthday celebration kicked off the summer at Industry Hills Expo in City of Industry..

Walking through the venue I couldn’t help but notice the event had not filled to capacity. None the less the it was filled with hot music and a crowd rooted in hip hop culture who appreciated the veteran caliber of west coast legends brought together on a beautiful Saturday afternoon. 2nd II None took to the stage. Super charged with energy performing classic hits like, “If you want it”, to an audience rhyming word for word along with KK and Gangsta D.

Another crowd pleaser was Delinquent Habits performing just as the sun was setting adding to a dramatic visual as more people arrived to the venue.

Suga Free slid in pimpin and gave the audience what we came to see. Classic hits that rolled one after the other like, Why U Bullshittin ‘?, “I’d Rather Give You My Bitch” and more. Suga Free even bumped DJ Quik’s, “Do I Love Her” featuring him. Made the crowd go absolutely crazy.

WC’s “Consider this an invitation, to my Gangsta Nation” rang out and you could hear the “nah, nah’s” across the entire venue as WC c-walked across the stage to the beat.

The Wire kept the show rolling with Too-Short taking the stage. The veterans definitely came out to play. Too Short performed his set with ease and majority of the time with a drink in hand. What’s his favorite word? Biaaaa!

One of my favorite west coast groups, Tha Eastsidaz was live in effect. How amazing all of this freshness.

Goldie Loc – Tha Eastsidaz

I found myself getting lost in the music like so many others while holding my camera, singing out loud to classics like, “G’d Up” and “I Luv It”. Looking around everyone was up out of their seats dancing.

Then the man of the hour, B-Real of Cypress Hill made his way to the stage. Announcement from the DJ to remove the barricades so that the people in the back could come to the front to sing Happy Birthday song to B-Real.

He appeared humbled by the crowds response and presence to be apart of his birthday.

B-Real

Once B-Real expressed his gratitude for the love he kicked right into the music. Performing from songs like “Vato” featuring Snoop and crowd favorite, “Roll it up, Light it up, Smoke it up”

Snoop Dogg aka DJ Snoopadelic

I was looking forward to seeing the Great DJ Snoopadelic spinning. I have always been intrigued of the music mans playlist and what better way than when they themselves spin. There was a small delay then Snoop appeared but he was so far away. Positioned at the back of the stage I had to rely on the screen behind him to see but felt disconnected.

Still Snoop played some of the best tunes and at that point I could feel the crowd growing tired. At least I know I was and so I made my way to the exit to get a head start on the traffic thankful for the opportunity to partake in the West Coast Summer Festival Party. It was amazing to see all these artist on stage going in at 1000% and watching the crowd enjoy every moment of it.
